Reverend W. Jerome Bracken, C.P., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Moral Theology, earned a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Fordham University, an M.A. in Theology from St. Michael’s Seminary, Union City, NJ, and a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Michael’s Seminary, NY. His dissertation is titled “Why Suffering is Redemption? A New Interpretation of the Theology of the Passion in the Summa Theologica, 3. 46-49 by Thomas Aquinas.” Ordained to the priesthood in 1968, Father Bracken served as Co-Founder of a House of Prayer with a Limited Apostoloate. He was Associate Retreat Director at Cardinal Spellman Retreat House, Riverdale, NY, and then at Bishop Molloy Retreat House, Jamaica, NY. Father Bracken’s classes include Health Care Ethics, Catholic Sexual Teaching and Ministry of Healing. His articles have appeared in The Angelicum, The Cusan, The Ecumenist, The Passionist and The Thomist. His article “Therapy: Friend or Foe to Spiritual Values and the Sacraments” appeared in With Mind and Heart Renewed: Essays in Honor of Rev. John F. Harvey, O.S.F.S. University Press of America, 2001.  His article "What Should Be One's Moral Response to the HHS 'Contraceptive Mandate?'" appeared in the Linacre Quarterly in February 2013.
