John Wargacki, Ph.D.
Dr. Wargacki is passionate about the arts, especially the relationship between poetry and music.
I love to teach, especially poetry, and I hope to inspire in my students
a deeper love and appreciation of literature and, in a broader sense,
the arts. I have devoted my scholarly pursuits to the poetry of later
19th and early 20th century America, and have published articles on the
works of Emily Dickinson, Hart Crane, Wallace Stevens, and Robert Frost.
I am especially interested in the spiritual dimension of American
poetry in general. I also teach in Seton Hall's core curriculum, and I
am pleased to participate in the University's ongoing conversations
about its identity and mission in terms of the Catholic Intellectual
