Hired in 2003, Dr. David P. Mest is a Faculty Associate in the Department of Accounting and Taxation. Dr. Mest teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis. Dr. Mest is currently co-advisor of Beta Alpha Psi and worked on the redesign of the introductory Financial Accounting class. Dr. Mest's research interests include the usefulness of financial accounting information, the forecasting process used by financial analysts, and CEO entrenchment behavior. His research, which is predominantly discipline-based in nature, has been published in The Accounting Review, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and Oil, Gas and Energy Quarterly. Dr. Mest is also recognized as an expert in the use of various financial databases.
