|Looking for a Second Degree Program?
Consider our Master's Entry - Clinical Nurse Leader Program, for students with a baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing major, our
intensive 2-year program leads to a master's-level qualification and
is the ideal way to begin a nursing career.
Our Clinical Nurse Leader Program is designed to provide a fast-track for the non-nurse
with a baccalaureate degree to become a nurse leader with a master’s
degree. Against a background of an increasingly complex healthcare environment, this
degree prepares nurses to effectively communicate and coordinate care across a range
of professional disciplines, integrate evidence-based practice, and think critically for
effective problem solving. The C.N.L. is not one of administration or management. The C.N.L. assumes accountability for patient-care outcomes through the assimilation and application of evidence-based information to design, implement, and evaluate patient-care processes and models of care delivery.
As the first direct-entry master’s nursing program in New Jersey, the C.N.L. is uniquely
situated to benefit highly motivated and dedicated students. This rigorous, full-time,
on-campus program takes 2 years to complete. The nursing curriculum is enhanced
with courses in evidence-based practice, clinical experience, resource management, and
utilization of informatics.
Upon completion of the program, the graduate is qualified
to sit for the NCLEX-R.N. and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Clinical
Nurse Leader examinations.
Graduates of this program are prepared to provide direct patient care as well as manage
care outcomes at the bedside, in both hospital settings and community locations.
C.N.L.s utilize horizontal leadership skills, leading and collaborating to improve the
overall quality of care within a frequently fragmented healthcare system, ensuring
that the patients’ interests are always paramount.
