The M.A. in Pastoral Ministry program equips students with the theological foundation and specialized training to answer Christ's call to serve in the Church today. For those who are currently working in pastoral ministry or are discerning the call to such service, the program provides a course of studies that infuses the students' desire to serve with the spiritual tools necessary to grow deeper in their faith.
Grow in Your Faith
Students and alumni enrich their careers and vocations through Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology.
"When I first began as a student at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, I knew that I wanted to serve my Church in some capacity, but wasn't sure how. The M.A.P.M. program helped me find my way."
Julie V. Burkey, D.Min.
This program consists of five separate, interrelated elements: coursework, field education, theological reflection, spiritual formation, and an Integration Seminar/Final Comprehensive Project. Taken together, these elements ensure that graduates from the program have both a theoretical and practical appreciation of what it means to live lives of committed service to Church and society.
Courses are offered on Seton Hall University's main campus in South Orange, New Jersey, as well as at off-campus locations and parishes in collaboration with ICSST's many certificate programs.
All students must take STHO 6020 Research Seminar in the first semester of study
The highly respected faculty of Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology is one of the largest of all the schools of theology in the United States. With hearts and minds committed to serving the Catholic Church, our professors -including priests, deacons, religious, and lay men and women -are national and international leaders who provide scholarly expertise and clarity on ethical and religious issues of our day. Leading authorities in their respective fields, our professors are in demand as lecturers, consultants, and commentators. Award-winning and acclaimed authors, they have published dozens of books and hundreds of articles, and have delivered thousands of presentations. They share their love of their faith with their students, encouraging them to learn and live the riches of Catholicism, as they journey closer to Christ and His Church. Ultimately, the professors seek to introduce the students to the Divine Teacher who is "the reason for this school. He is the unseen but ever present teacher in its classes. He is the model of its faculty and inspiration of its students." (Author Unknown).
