Leadership, Research, and Renewal
Recognizing that today’s leaders require a dramatically different level of knowledge, skill, and character than those of the past, Seton Hall University’s Institute for Education Leadership, Research and Renewal (IELRR) draws from the latest research and theory and combines it with current best practices to design programs and services for administrators and educators.

The issue…
Today’s school leaders face growing expectations for performance, often accompanied by declining human and financial resources to do the job. State standards and high-stakes testing have made school leaders directly accountable for results. Principals and superintendents must be instructional leaders capable of generating significant student improvement while juggling competing political, administrative and financial responsibilities.

The response…
Seton Hall University’s Institute for Education Leadership, Research and Renewal (IELRR) is designed to attract, instruct and support school administrators so they can successfully meet the challenges posed by today’s educational climate. Recognizing the isolation that education leaders face, the IELRR provides a host of services, collegial professional development, and a network for problem-solving and knowledge-sharing.
