Where is Seton Hall University located?
Location matters. The School of Diplomacy has utilized its location to develop unparalleled opportunities for students. In addition to Seton Hall’s main campus, the School of Diplomacy is the only APSIA member to offer students the chance to study in both the New York City area and Washington, D.C., providing students the experience of the U.S.’s international and national centers of diplomacy.

Can I virtually visit the campus?
For your convenience, a virtual tour of campus is available to be viewed online. If you would like to meet with us at the School, appointments are scheduled on a first come first serve basis on Mondays and Tuesdays. What are your application deadlines?
Graduate applications:  School of Diplomacy Graduate applications are considered on a rolling basis all year long. Therefore, once an application is complete, it is reviewed. The preferred deadlines are May 1 (Fall), and October 1 (Spring). Dual degree applicants complete and submit two applications. The School's preferred deadlines apply to dual degree applicants for diplomacy.  Program deadlines differ for M.A. applicants outside of the School of Diplomacy and dual degree applicants should check with the other program for deadline information.

I completed my undergraduate degree at an institution outside of the U.S. Am I eligible to apply for the School's graduate program?
Yes! Students that studied at undergraduate institutions not accredited in the United States or Canada must have transcripts evaluated, course-by-course, by one of the following agencies:

How many courses/credit hours do I need to study/enroll in to be considered a full-time student?

  • Graduate students: Full-time graduate students study at least 9 credits in the fall and spring semesters. This is generally equal to 3 three-credit classes per semester.
  • Undergraduate students: Full-time undergraduate students study 12 credits or more in the fall and spring semesters. This is generally equal to 4 three-credit classes per semester.


Where do international students who attend Seton Hall live?

  • Graduate students:  School of Diplomacy graduate students live off-campus in apartments within walking distance of campus, in urban areas with commuter train access to campus, or in the surrounding suburbs, a short distance from campus by car. The School's graduate student organization, the Graduate Diplomacy Council, supports an on-line housing database. This forum helps students find roommates and discuss various apartment buildings and neighborhoods in the area.   • Undergraduate students: Seton Hall houses approximately 2,350 students - nearly 50 percent of the undergraduate population. Does Seton Hall have an international student orientation?
