Global Leadership Gala

Nearly 250 guests including governor Tom Ridge, undersecretary of state Karen Hughes, Heather Podesta, Archbishop Francis A. Chullikatt, dignitaries and business leaders joined the Whitehead School in celebrating the leadership of Susan K. Neely, president and chief executive officer, American Beverage Association as she was presented with the School's Global Citizen of the Year Award at the 2011 Global Leadership Gala.

The Whitehead School's Global Leadership Gala honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in international careers. From global health to economic development, education and environmental sustainability, this distinguished group of global citizens addresses high-priority issues in a range of fields.
 
This black tie event draws a crowd of approximately 250 guests for a night of fine dining and dancing to raise funds that allow the Whitehead School to offer programming opportunities including the World Leaders Forum. The School's largest single fundraiser, the Gala has raised over $1 million for the Whitehead School. The Global Leadership Gala has been held at some of the most prestigious venues in New York and New Jersey including the Waldorf Astoria, the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center, Cipriani Wall Street and the Short Hills Hilton. Guests have included famed diplomats and politicians such as Hillary Clinton and Henry Kissinger.
