Stillman School of Business

A Moral Compass to Guide Your Career
The Stillman School is not only focused on developing successful business leaders. As part of a Catholic University, we’re also deeply committed to developing the whole you — mind, heart and spirit. That’s why business ethics has been an important part of the Stillman School’s curriculum since we opened our doors in 1950. It’s our goal to ensure your future career success while helping you become the type of leader who is guided by a “moral compass.”

At the Stillman School, your education emphasizes the value of servant leadership in business. You learn about integrity, professionalism, compassion and commitment to helping others — and witness first-hand how possessing these traits can lead to a fulfilling and successful career.

Our core values — professionalism and integrity — are studied in detail at the undergraduate and graduate levels through required business ethics and corporate social responsibility courses.

Compelling case studies, meaningful service-learning projects (both on and off campus) as well as lectures by prominent corporate leaders help you achieve a deeper level of understanding regarding ethical challenges in today’s corporate environment.

Our Annual Integrity and Professionalism Convocation features outstanding leaders who offer personal accounts and insights into current business issues. This year, Joseph Plumeri, chairman and chief executive officer of Willis Group Holding Limited, addressed the significant challenges faced in the insurance industry following the devastating hurricane season. He also detailed his recipe for corporate success — a formula that has boosted his company’s bottom line and employee morale while preserving his personal integrity. Previous speakers include AT&T President Betsy Bernard, award-winning author and entrepreneur Mary Higgins Clark and New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

In addition to convocation, we also host Professionalism and Integrity Week each spring. A scholarship luncheon recognizing studetn leaders as well as an evening colloquium for the Seton Hall community provide additional opportunities to reflect on how these powerful core values can transform individuals into leaders who make a difference.
