The Russian and East European Studies Program (REESP) brings together faculty and students from a variety of fields to pursue a common interest in the cultures, history, languages and political institutions of East - Central Europe and the successor states to the USSR. Through our Minor and Certificate Programs, we aim to provide rigorous and comprehensive liberal arts training, preparing students for continuing engagement with Russia and Eastern Europe throughout their careers. Students are encouraged to take advantage of our excellent study abroad program in St. Petersburg, Russia, which we have developed in close collaboration with the Center for Russian Language and Culture at St. Petersburg State University. In addition, we serve as a cultural resource by sponsoring field trips, symposia, films, guest lectures, and many other events. The Russian and East European Studies Program welcomes anyone who is interested in participating in its activities.
There are many co-curricular opportunities for students to experience the culture of Russia and East Europe, including those sponsored by the Slavic Club.
