Seton Center for Community Health
The Seton Center for Community Health (SCCH) was established in the Fall of 2004 as an academic resource for collaboration, learning and research to enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities in need. The Center is part of Seton Hall University and located in the Department of Public and Healthcare Administration in the College of Arts and Sciences. SCCH provides technical assistance and scholarship to community agencies focused on improving the health status of New Jersey residents. It follows a partnership approach that facilitates linkages with community stakeholders, nonprofit leaders and healthcare providers.

The Center serves as a catalyst and a central organization to aid health partners and agencies in (a) developing strategic plans that align goals and outcomes, (b) seeking and developing grants, and (c) completing evaluations that demonstrate success for current awards and future funding. Project partners negotiate nominal fees to help maintain the Center’s collaborative mission. The Center builds on an already established practice of encouraging graduate MPA and MHA students enrolled in capstone courses to continue their community service learning. Graduate students gain experiential knowledge and obtain course credit as they help complete SCCH projects under the supervision of the Center’s Director. The Center fulfills Seton Hall University’s mission of preparing students to be servant leaders who make a difference in the world and in their local communities.
