Advance Your Career
In the College of Arts and Sciences, we pride ourselves on the array of academic programs and opportunities provided to students on both a full-time and part-time basis.
Our graduate degrees offer advanced programs of study in which are guided by scholars, specialists and experts toward mastery of your field. The majority of our graduate student population works and takes graduate courses. We encourage you to bring your work experiences into our classrooms because it allows us to better highlight the connection between theory and practice.
As a graduate student of the College, you can expect to integrate what you learn in the classroom with what you are doing on the job. Your academic experience is not only about sitting in a classroom listening to lectures, but also about learning from your fellow classmates. Collaborative research projects and networking opportunities enable students to work with and continually learn from one another. Even if you are new to the field of study, you will feel welcome to actively participate in class discussions and projects.
Our graduate programs offer flexible course schedules as well as faculty who are sensitive to the needs of working professionals, so there is no need to take a leave of absence from work to complete your degree. Conveniently scheduled classes meet in the late afternoons and evenings, as well as on the weekends and online. Even the Ph.D. programs in chemistry and molecular bioscience — programs that traditionally require full-time study — are available on a part-time basis.
