Students have the opportunity to work with faculty researchers on various projects. Faculty are pursuing projects, such as
- designing programming languages for high-performance computing
- developing software for efficiently solving problems arising in computational science
- engineering reliable software systems
Computing honors students are required to write a thesis. Past work included topics, such as
- computer graphics
- network infrastructure and maintenance of a cluster of workstations for high-performance computing
- XML-based representation of scientific data
- designing efficient data structures for some functional programming language
