Christianson Grant- For U.S. citizens and permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 28 who have already arranged to participate in a minimum 6-month work, internship, or volunteer abroad program. The grant program does not support independent research projects, academic study abroad programs, missionary work, or religious programs.
- Award: Ranges between $2,500 and $10,000.

Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation- Open to all undergraduate and graduate students, including international students. Instead of being judged by academic achievement, essays, or financial need, scholarships are rewarded on the basis of applicants' scores on multiple choice quizzes available on the website.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals- For U.S. citizens and permanent residents who will between 18 and 24 years of age at the beginning of the program. Applicants must have completed their general coursework in their intended internship field, as well as have some relevant work experience. German language proficiency is preferred but not required. Intended for students in business, vocational, scientific, engineering, technical, and agricultural fields, though applicants from all fields are encouraged to apply. Participants complete a one-year work-study fellowship involving extensive German language training and a five-month internship in a German-speaking work environment.
- Award: A full-year scholarship including round-trip transatlantic flight, university tuition, language training, living stipend, and program-related travel costs in Germany, and health and accident insurance.

Copyright Awareness Scholarship- For all students, including international students, who are 25 years of age or younger. Applicants must submit an original creative video that will be used to educate their peers on the importance of intellectual property and copyright law.

Google Policy Fellowship- For all students interested in Internet and technology policy. Participants have the opportunity to contribute to the public dialogue on these issues, and explore future academic and professional interests. Fellows spend the summer working at public interest organizations at the forefront of debates on broadband and access policy, content regulation, copyright and trademark reform, consumer privacy, open government, and more. Participating organizations are based in either Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, Ottawa or Toronto, Canada. Open to international students with a current U.S. or Canadian student visa.
- Award: A total stipend of $7,500 for the 10 week summer program, disbursed in three parts throughout the summer.

Hit the Books Scholarship- For all students between the ages of 18 and 25. Requires a maximum 500 word essay on the topic of importance of education in the applicant's life and how the scholarship money will assist in accomplishing the applicant's goals. Bonus points will be awarded to those students who find a creative way to include their passion for coffee within their essay without losing sight of the primary topic

iOme Challenge Essay and Video Contest- For all students. Combination essay and video entries must be made by a team of students assisted by a faculty adviser. This year's entries must address the following topic: widespread agreement among economists and public policy experts indicates that individuals and especially Americans have not engaged in long term financial savings at the rate they should to secure their financial futures. This poses significant long-term problems, in particular: 1) citizens may not be adequately prepared financially for their future; and 2) it may put a substantial burden on governmental budgets, especially social benefit programs in the future. International students are welcome to participate, but the team leader must be a U.S. citizen.
- Award: The winning student team will receive $10,000, and their faculty adviser $2,000. Honorable mention teams will receive $2,000, and their faculty advisers $500.

Kathryn Davis Fellowships for Peace - Middlebury Language Schools- For all students studying or wanting to begin studying Arabic,
Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, Portuguese, or Russian. Applicants must also
submit an application to one of the Middlebury Language Schools.
Intended for students with demonstrated interest in one of the following
areas (although students studying other subjects are still invited to
apply): international, global, or area studies;
international politics and economics; peace and security studies; and/or
conflict resolution.
- Award: Covers the full cost of summer language study at a Middlebury Language School, including tuition, room, and board.

Life Lessons Scholarship Program
Open to all students between the ages of 17 and 24 who have experienced the death of a parent or legal guardian, and who are a legal resident of the United States (including Puerto Rico). Applicant must submit an essay or video about how the death of their parent or legal guardian effected their life. Award: Grand prize of $10,000 to the best video or essay; 7 awards of $5,000 to the first runners-up; 6 awards of $2,500 to the second runners-up; 45 awards of $1,000 to the third runners-up. Mensa U.S. Scholarship Program- For all students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. A local Mensa group in the applicant's area must be participating in the scholarship program; applicants can check this on the website. Requires a maximum 550 word essay explaining the applicant's career, academic and/or vocational goals.
- Award: Range from $300 to $1,000.

Northwest Perspectives Essay Contest- For all students. Requires a maximum 1,500-word essay addressing ideas that affect the Northwest.

Seton Hall University Servant Leader Scholarship- For undergraduate and graduate Seton Hall students. New students (freshmen, transfers, and 1st year graduate students) must show evidence of their academic achievement prior to entrance into Seton Hall University, such as cumulative GPA, standardized test scores (SAT I or ACT for undergraduates), class rank, strength of curriculum, and college GPA (for transfers and graduate students). Current SHU students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. All applicants must fill out the FAFSA form. Students interested in Catholic studies are especially encouraged to apply.

The Steve S. Kang Young Artists and Scholars Fund- For all students in the arts, humanities, and sciences. College Parents of America Exceptional Leader Scholarship
- For all full-time students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Freshmen must have been honor students at their high school; upperclassmen must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. All applicants must demonstrate outstanding leadership skills inside and outside the classroom.

Participants work in Washington D.C. during the summer.

Humanity in Action Fellowship- For sophomores, juniors, seniors, and recent graduates of any nationality. Participants spend 5 weeks over the summer in Europe exploring national histories of discrimination and resistance, as well as examples of issues affecting different minority groups today. Each program is highly interdisciplinary, and features daily lectures and discussions with renowned academics, journalists, politicians, and activists, as well as site visits to government agencies, non-profit and community organizations, museums, and memorials. The programs seek to highlight different models of action to remedy injustice.
- Award: Costs of accommodation in Europe and participation in the program are covered. Airfare is not automatically covered, but can be for students who can demonstrate financial need. Although a food stipend is also provided, students are encouraged to bring along an extra $500 to cover expenses. Successful participants who stay involved with the organization after program completion also become eligible for a number of professional fellowships.

National Security Agency Summer Language Program- For sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students who are U.S. citizens and are studying one of the following languages: Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Pashto, Persian-Farsi, Russian or Urdu. Requires a 3.0 GPA, with a 3.5 GPA in language studies preferred, and students must continue to take at least one language course each semester. A 12-week summer internship program that may continue for a second summer, and may also include a conditional job offer from the National Security Agency after graduation.
- Award: Participants receive a salary throughout the course of their internship. Participants who travel to the internship from an out-of-state school are eligible for travel reimbursement.

The Phillips Foundation - Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship Program- For full-time sophomores and juniors who are U.S. citizens. Award is based mostly on merit, although financial need is also taken into consideration. Requires an essay.

Udall Scholarship - For full-time sophomores and juniors who have demonstrated a commitment to a career in any field related to the environment, OR full-time sophomores and juniors who are Native American or Alaska natives studying tribal health care or Native public policy. Must demonstrate leadership, community service, and a strong academic record. Minimum GPA: 3.0. Open to U.S. citizens, permanent resident aliens, or U.S. nationals. Requires SHU endorsement.

NYC Urban Fellows Program- For seniors and recent graduates, including international students who can demonstrate their eligibility to work in the U.S. for the duration of the 9-month fellowship. Participants are placed in Mayoral offices and various other city agencies, learning about public policy through a hands-on approach. Participants also attend a series of workshops that help promote a deep understanding of the structure of New York City government. The program seeks to ensure that every Urban Fellow comprehends the intricacies of City, State and Federal finance and the interaction between these levels of government. Also includes several trips to Albany and Washington D.C.

Judicial Studies Fellowship Program- For 2012-13 program, applicants must have been 20 years of age by September 1, 2012, and have earned a Bachelor's degree by that same date. Applicants with graduate degrees are welcome. For the 10-month fellowship, participants work full-time at California trial and appellate courts while simultaneously earning credits as graduate students in Public Policy and Administration at Sacramento State University. International students who are authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program are welcome to apply.

National Bureau of Asian Research - Next Generation Fellowship- For U.S. citizens and permanent residents who will complete a Master's degree before the start of the fellowship. No specific major is required, although the fellowship has attracted many students from the fields of international relations, business, public health, and law. Participants serve a one-year fellowship in Seattle, Washington and gain further knowledge of Asia and an understanding of the U.S. foreign policymaking process by: supporting NBR research projects; conducting independent research under the guidance of NBR fellowship staff and two NBR affiliated scholars; co-managing the NBR Alumni Network blog; arranging seminars and discussion forums hosting Asia experts; and traveling to Washington, D.C., to participate an orientation and the briefing of research findings to relevant constituents within the policy community.

National Security Agency Summer Language Program- For sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students who are U.S. citizens and are studying one of the following languages: Chinese,

GPA, with a 3.5 GPA in language studies preferred, and students must
continue to take at least one language course each semester. A 12-week
summer internship program that may continue for a second summer, and may

Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program- For U.S. citizens who will be between 23 and 34 years of age on the application deadline. Requires a graduate degree or equivalent training in business administration, journalism, law, public policy, international relations, or a closely related field, and at least two years of relevant work experience. No German language ability is required, but applicants must be willing to participate in language training. Participants serve a 9-month fellowship during which they have the opportunity to experience two high-level work phases at leading institutions in Germany, customized to their interests. Past host institutions have included federal and local government, private corporations, media outlets, and NGOs. German language training is also provided in the U.S. and in Germany.
- Award: Travel and language training expenses are covered, and a 2,000 euro monthly stipend and insurance are provided. For those traveling with a spouse and/or children, financial support for such accompanying family, including 50% of travel costs, supplemental living stipend, health insurance, and limited funding for language training is also provided.

Soros Fellowship for New Americans- For graduating seniors, recent graduates, and current graduate students who are new Americans, including resident aliens, naturalized citizens, or children of naturalized citizens. Women's Research and Educational Institute - Congressional Fellowships on Women and Public Policy- For current graduate students or recent Master's degree recipients. Applicants may be men or women of any nationality, age, or discipline. Participants serve an 8-month fellowship in Washington D.C., gaining experience in public policymaking in Congress.
