The Charles and Joan Alberto Italian Studies Institute is pleased to announce the following scholarships available to students of Italian Studies:
The Joseph and Geraldine La Motta Chair in Italian Studies Endowed Scholarship:
- Honoring Dominick and Christine La Motta, the scholarship is awarded annually to a promising second-semester sophomore at Seton Hall University. The scholarship is in the amount of $5,00 for each of the winner's junior and senior years, for a total award of $10,000. It is available to students enrolled in any of the University's undergraduate programs, including the College of Arts and Sciences, Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations, and the Stillman School of Business. To apply, please print out the application and send it to Dr. Gabriella Romani, Director of the Alberto Institute, by January 31.
Charles and Joan Alberto Scholarships:
- This scholarship is awarded annually to two junior or senior students, selected on the basis of economic need and without regards to ancestry or planned field of study. Each of these scholarships will be in the amount of $2,000 at a minimum. For more information, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
UNICO District VII Excellence Prize:
- A $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who excels in one of the courses offered in Italian Studies program during the academic year.
Nicastro-Coccia Foundation Scholarship for Educators:
- A $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a junior or senior student of Italian descent with demonstrated financial need and a GPA of at least 3.0.
Peter Cocoziello Scholarship:
- A $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a junior or senior student of Italian descent with demonstrated financial need and a GPA of at least 3.0.
Summer Travel Scholarships:
Travel scholarships (ranging from $500-$2,000) are available to students attending the Seton Hall Study Abroad Program in Rome in the summer:
- Camille Vecchio Scholarship
- Ciccolini Travel Scholarship
- Columbian Foundation Scholarship
- Federation of Italian American Societies in NJ Scholarship
- The Joseph and Elda Institute Scholarship
